ADVERTISEMENT FOR SENIOR TEACHING AND NON–TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES

The Westland University is a newly established Nigerian Private University and located in the ancient Iwo town of Osun State. The ICT–driven institution represents determined effort to tremendously contribute to higher education growth and development in Nigeria. Our University is envisioned to be a top–ranked, world–class higher education institution with profound commitment to excellent research standards and production of self–reliant, integrous, globally competitive and employable graduates with requisite skills, and competencies to situate themselves as major stakeholders in the nation’s growth and development.

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacancies in the following Departments/Units of the University for teaching and non–teaching staff.

SENIOR NON–TEACHING STAFF POSITIONS

There exist vacancies for non–teaching positions in the different departments/units as listed below:

QUALIFICATIONS

(a) Deputy Registrars (CONTISS 14) Candidates must possess a good University Degree preferably in the Humanities, Law, Social Sciences or Management Sciences plus fifteen (15) years cognate experience, eight (8) of which must have been spent in a University system.

(b) Principal Assistant Registrars (CONTISS 13) Candidates must possess a good University Degree preferably in the Humanities, Law, Social Sciences or Management Sciences plus twelve (12) years cognate experience, six (6) of which must have been spent in a University system.

(c) Senior Assistant Registrars (CONTISS 11) Qualifications are same as (a) above but with nine (9) years cognate experience, (3) of which must have been spent in a tertiary institution.

 (d) Assistant Registrars (CONTISS 09) Candidates should possess a good Honours Degree preferably in Law, humanities and Social Sciences from recognized Universities, plus six (6) years cognate experience in a tertiary institution.

(e) Assistant Registrars (Guidance and Counselling) (CONTISS 09) Candidates should possess a good Honours Degree in Guidance and Counselling from a recognized University, plus six (6) years cognate experience in a tertiary institution.

(f) Administrative Officers (CONTISS 09) Qualifications as in (d) above, but with three (3) years cognate experience, in addition, the candidate should not only have a credit in English Language,but be proficient in oral and written English Language.

(g) Administrative Assistants (CONTISS 07) Qualifications are the same as for Administrative Officer.

(h) Confidential Secretary I (CONTISS 07) The Candidate must possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Studies passed at minimum of Lower Credit level, with six (6) years’ experience plus demonstrable ability for 60 words speed per minute in typing plus computer literacy. Also the candidate must have WASC/SSCE/GCE with at least 5 credits including English Language, in addition, the candidate should not only have a credit in English Language, but be proficient in oral and written English Language.

(i) Confidential Secretary II (CONTISS 06) The Candidate must possess National Diploma (ND) in Secretarial Studies passed at a minimum of Lower Credit level, with a demonstrable ability for 50 words speed per minute in typing, with three (3) years cognate experience, plus computer literacy. Also the candidate must have WASC/SSCE/GCE with at least 5 credits including English Language, in addition, the candidate should not only have a credit in English Language, but be proficient in oral and written English Language.

 IMPORTANT NOTICE

(A) All applicants for positions of Senior Lecturer and above should provide a short 18 Teaching Philosophy Statement.

(B) All candidates must possess NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificate or Certificate of Exclusion where applicable.

(C) Salaries, allowances and other conditions of service attached to the various positions are the same as approved for federal universities in Nigeria.

(D) Candidates who are awaiting results may not be considered and need not apply.

(E) Computer proficiency is required for all advertised positions.
