2019 Federal Judiciary Retirees Under The Contributory Pension Scheme

1. In line with the provisions of Section 15 of the Pension Reform Act 2014 and as part of the implementation process of the issuance of Federal
Government Retirement Bonds, the National Judicial Council will th commence an enrolment exercise from Monday, 9 July, 2018 for employees of the Federal Judiciary that will retire from service in 2019 after attaining 60 years of age or 35 years in service, whichever is earlier.
2. It is important to emphasize that only Retirees who have been enrolled will be issued with the Federal Government Retirement Bond which will be liquidated and paid into their Retirement Saving Accounts with their respective Pension Funds Administrators.
3. The affected employees would be physically enrolled and are expected to come along with the originals of the under-listed documents for sighting, while photocopies of same would be submitted during the exercise: -
a) Letter of first Appointment/Gazette
b) Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age;
c) Letter of Last Promotion th d) Pay Slip indicating grade level and step as at 30 June, 2004.
e) Introduction Letter from the Court/Judicial Body indicating date of
first appointment, grade level and step as at 30th June 2004, and
grade level and step as at the date of retirement.

f) Letter of indemnity in case of voluntary retirement stating the amount paid as pension and or gratuity if any;

g) Authenticated past Record of service;
h) Pay Slip indicating grade level and step as at July, 2007;
i) Last Pay Slip indicating grade level and step;
j) Evidence of registration with a Pension Fund Administrator
Personal identification Number (PIN);
k) Evidence of Transfer and Acceptance of Service (where applicable).
l) Two recent Passport photographs
m) Letter of Confirmation of Appointment or Official Gazette.
4. The Pension Desk Officers (PDO) must be available at the designated
centers during the period of enrolment to verify/authenticate and endorse
the retirement registration forms and all relevant documents of each retiree.
5. Medically unfit affected retirees are exempted from the physical
enrolment. The Desk Officers are however advised to come along with the
aforementioned documents as well as a letter from a Government approved
Hospital certifying that the affected retiree is medically unfit to attend the
6. Next of kin(s) are to come along with the aforementioned documents,
Death Certificate and Letter of Administration.
7. The exercise is scheduled to hold on the dates stated hereunder:

8.Note that all the retiring staff can be attended to at any centre that is most convenient for them irrespective of their geopolitical zones.
