Nigerian Bar Association Intervenes in Ilorin Branch Crisis
Posted: 22/Aug/2014

National executive of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has intervened in the crisis rocking Ilorin branch of the association, Daily Trust learnt yesterday.

The intervention was spearheaded by the outgoing National President, Mr. Okey Wali,  who has reportedly ordered all factions to close rank and allow peace to reign.
Both the immediate past executive led by Barrister Rafiu Balogun and the present team chaired by Mobolaji Ojibara have been at loggerheads over the branch’s secretariat project financing.
The crisis, it would be recalled, led to the impeachment of the chairman by a faction of the association while the embattled chairman equally suspended his predecessor and other members of the past exco over alleged inducement of the crisis.
A source in the association confirmed the intervention of the national body, saying both factions have been prevailed upon “to stop further hostilities and maintain peace”.
